NUS TalentConnect Student Guide:

Applying for Internships via NUS IAAS (Internship-As-A-Service)

As a newly created alternative to NUS TalentConnect, NUS IAAS serves as a convenient gig marketplace for students to seek either short-term or long-term internships, ranging from as short as 1 month to 6 month arrangements. The usage of this platform has been increasingly popular especially amongst undergraduates who are seeking non-credit bearing internships, either on part-time or full-time basis (usually with LOA).

How is this different from other official credit-bearing internships in NUS?

One key difference is the flexibility in terms of timeframe. The existing internship programmes are time-bound to the Academic Calendar. For instance, industrial attachments by the different Faculties/Schools will have to happen during the semesters. Likewise, students can only embark on vacation internships during the vacation periods. Internships under the NUS IAAS, however, will not be bound by the Academic Calendar.

Provision of CPF Exemption Letter (if requested by employers)

For internships posted, offered and accepted on NUS IAAS, the admin team will be able to provide an Internship Support Letter upon request from the employer. Both the student and the employer will be required to fulfil the following steps:

  1. Employer to sign up on NUS IAAS.

  2. Upon account approval, Employer to post the internship on NUS IAAS.

  3. When the posting is open for application, the student is to apply to the internship on NUS IAAS.

  4. Employer to offer the internship to students on NUS IAAS.

  5. Student to accept internship offer on NUS IAAS.

  6. Either employer or student is to email NUS IAAS (IAAS@nus.edu.sg) to request for an internship support letter.
